Arseni Arseniev The main principles of Ayurveda (ancient indian medicine), coherent with notions like Dharma - natural (moral) law and Ahimsa - principle of nonviolance, are presented in this article. Ayurveda takes that disease, according to the tracts of Charaka and Sushrut,is structured by origin, location and by the disrupted balance of the tridosha - Vata (Wind), Pitta (Fire) and Kapha (Water). The most dangerous diseases, coherent with the disbalance of the doshas which together with their properties (gunas) - Sattva, Tamas and Radjas form the horizontal (biological) and vertical (psychological) structure of the individual. The tridosha Vata, Pitta and Kapha are displayed through Prana (the movement - energy),Tejas (the internal radiation - fire ) and Ojas (the original vitality - water). The dosha Vata forms the vital points (nadas) and the coherent chakras. |

Peshka Pesheva, Assistant Professor in Department of Social Medicine nad Health Care Management The evolution without precedent of medical knowledge imposes a new paradigm, which is to unify theoretical and practical aspects of medical knowledge: that of the evidence based medicine. Its development is connected to the existing informational gap between the scientific research and clinical practice, as well as to the limitations of practitioners in respect to the time and resources. This article reviews the evolution of the concept of evidence based medicine and some approaches for its integration into the daily practice, namely by the interpretation of the strength of evidence and building up of clinical guidelines and recommendations. It emphasizes on the significant importance of this new approach on patients, practitioners and health managers.
